Frequently Asked Questions
Everything important, without the runaround.
01 What services does Motley Media provide?
Motley Media & Digital Productions provides photography, videography, aerial and drone production, editing and post-production, brand and concept development, graphic design, web-related creative services and digital project delivery.
Photography and videography may be booked separately or combined within one coordinated project. Completed videos, photographs and graphic-design files may be delivered through the MotFlix project portal, subject to the access and download permissions selected for the project.
02 How do I request a quote and secure my booking?
For general enquiries or availability checks, use the Contact Us form. For a detailed and accurate price, complete the Request an Accurate Quote questionnaire with the date, locations, schedule, required services, expected coverage, deliverables and project requirements.
A quotation does not reserve a date. A booking is confirmed only when the required deposit has been received and Motley Media has issued written confirmation. Any material change to the date, locations, hours, deliverables, creative direction or access requirements may require an amended quotation.
03 How far in advance should I book?
Book as soon as the event date and primary venue are reasonably certain.
Earlier booking is particularly important for weddings, major celebrations, multi-location events, school and child-related projects, corporate functions, projects requiring several crew members, drone or aerial production, peak weekends and public-holiday periods.
Short-notice bookings may be accepted when resources and preparation time permit, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
04 Can Motley Media help plan the schedule and required shots?
Yes. Careful preparation materially improves the efficiency and completeness of event coverage.
Motley Media provides downloadable event sheets, wedding run sheets and project-information forms to help identify addresses, access instructions, preparation and ceremony times, key participants, speeches, scheduled events, must-capture people or moments, cultural requirements and venue restrictions.
The client should nominate one authorised contact to provide final instructions and approvals. Motley Media will use reasonable efforts to capture requested material, but no particular moment can be guaranteed where timing, obstruction, access, safety or subject cooperation prevents it.
05 Does Motley Media travel, and what venue arrangements are required?
Motley Media primarily services Sydney and surrounding regions and may travel throughout NSW or interstate by arrangement.
The quotation will identify any included or additional travel, accommodation, tolls, parking, permits, site inductions or access charges. The client must arrange safe and practical access, appropriate nearby parking or loading access, and any venue, property-owner, school, council or organiser permissions not expressly included in the quotation.
For event or function-centre coverage lasting five or more consecutive hours, where guests are being served a meal, one suitable vendor meal and reasonable non-alcoholic refreshments must be provided for each Motley Media crew member. Breaks will be scheduled during low-activity periods wherever practicable.
06 How many hours of coverage and crew members will I need?
Coverage is tailored to the scale, schedule, locations and deliverables of each project.
The quotation or service agreement will state the scheduled starting and finishing times, the number of photographers, videographers or assistants, the locations covered, included deliverables and any agreed overtime rate.
Additional crew may be recommended for simultaneous activity, large venues, extensive guest numbers, multiple locations, live performances, corporate programs or combined photography and videography. Coverage beyond the agreed finishing time is subject to crew availability and may incur an additional fee.
07 What happens if weather, safety, venue restrictions or drone conditions affect the project?
Motley Media will proceed wherever the work can be completed safely, lawfully and without unreasonable risk to people or equipment.
Outdoor and aerial work may be affected by rain, wind, visibility, crowd density, airspace restrictions, emergency activity, venue or property restrictions, unsafe terrain, GPS or electromagnetic interference and CASA operational requirements.
Motley Media has final operational authority over whether a drone flight or other safety-sensitive activity can proceed. Where an affected service cannot reasonably continue, possible alternatives may include rescheduling, modified coverage, ground-based footage, a revised shot plan, credit or another proportionate solution appropriate to the circumstances.
08 When and how will my photographs, videos or files be delivered?
The anticipated turnaround will be stated in the quotation or project documents. Delivery periods vary according to project scale, editing requirements, revisions, approvals, production workload and the type of final output required.
Completed work may be delivered through MotFlix, a secure online link, a cloud-delivery service, a physical storage device or another agreed method. Restricted MotFlix projects use an access code, and the client is responsible for controlling who receives that code or private download link.
Motley Media uses professional equipment and reasonable capture, handling and backup procedures. If an unavoidable equipment failure, media corruption or data-loss incident occurs despite reasonable care, Motley Media will investigate recovery options and provide an appropriate remedy, which may include recovery work, substitute material, reshooting where practicable, a credit or a proportionate refund.
Unless a different period is stated, online project delivery will generally remain available for at least 90 days. Clients should promptly download, verify and independently back up all delivered material because MotFlix is a delivery platform, not permanent archival storage.
09 Can I request revisions or receive RAW and unedited files?
The number and type of included revisions are determined by the quotation or service agreement.
Revision requests should be submitted using the Revision Request Form and should identify the relevant file, image number, page, video timecode or exact requested change.
Minor agreed-scope corrections may be included. New creative directions, extensive retouching, replacement music, new graphics, additional edits, alternative formats or changes requested after approval may incur an additional fee.
RAW photographs, unedited video, audio stems, editable project files, source graphics, unused takes and working files are not included unless they are expressly listed, purchased or licensed in writing.
10 Who owns the copyright, and how may I use or share the finished work?
Copyright remains with Motley Media unless a written copyright assignment expressly states otherwise.
After full payment, the client receives the usage licence specified for the project: either a Personal Use Licence for private, family or non-commercial use, or a Commercial Usage Licence for approved business, promotional, advertising or revenue-generating use.
Restricted MotFlix codes and private links must only be shared with authorised recipients. Motley Media will not publicly use confidential, restricted, child-related or privacy-sensitive material contrary to the applicable agreement, release or consent form.
Third-party rights in music, brands, artwork, venues, performers or supplied content remain subject to their own permissions and licences.
